Secondhand listings are the worst photos in retail.
A hanger tells you nothing
A coat on a wire hanger has no shoulders in it. You cannot see where the hem lands, how wide it actually is, or whether the colour does anything next to your face. You are being asked to guess, from a photo taken to be quick rather than useful.
A flat lay hides the drape
Laid on a duvet, everything looks rectangular. Drape, volume and length are exactly the properties a flat lay destroys — and exactly the ones that decide whether you would wear the thing.
Fit is the one thing nobody refunds
Buyer protection is built for an item that never arrives or is not as described. A jacket that arrives exactly as described and simply is not right on you is not a platform problem — it is your problem, and usually your postage.
What Tryft does about it
It renders the seller's own photo onto yours.
Google's try-on runs on retailer catalogues — clean product images, on models, supplied by the brand. Resale has none of that. Every listing is one person's photo of one object, and that is the whole reason the resale market is uncovered.
Tryft starts from that photograph. Open the listing, hit share, pick Tryft. The garment is cut out, put on your saved photo, and comes back as an image you can look at properly — usually in under half a minute.

It is a guide, not a measurement
The output is an AI-generated image. It shows how the garment reads on your proportions. It does not know your measurements, and it cannot promise a size will fit. The seller's measurements still do that job.
Fabric and exact colour move
Weight, sheen and the exact shade of a screen-photographed garment are approximations. A print or a busy pattern is harder than a plain fabric, and the render will show that.
A bad input is a bad output
A blurry listing photo with three garments in it renders like a blurry listing photo with three garments in it. If a render comes out wrong there is a report control on every result, and a failed render returns its credit on its own.

Is this an official Vinted app?
No. Tryft is an independent Android app and has no affiliation with Vinted. It works from the listing photograph itself, which is why it needs no partnership with any marketplace — the same thing works for Depop, Wallapop, Grailed, Poshmark or eBay.
Does it work with hanger shots and flat lays?
That is what it is built for. Catalogue try-on needs a retailer’s clean product image on a model; resale listings almost never have one. Tryft takes the photo the seller actually posted — on a hanger, on the floor, on a bed — and renders that garment onto your saved photo.
How accurate is it about fit?
It is not a fit prediction and does not claim to be. The render is an AI-generated image showing how that garment reads on your proportions — length, volume, colour against your skin, whether the shape works. It cannot know how a seam sits or how a fabric falls in person. Read the measurements in the listing for fit; use Tryft for whether it is worth reading them.
Do I have to upload a photo for every item?
No. You save one full-length photo of yourself once, and every render after that reuses it. The only thing you add per item is the listing photo, shared straight from the app you found it in.
What does it cost?
Credits, bought in packs. One credit renders your whole outfit — every item you have added, in one image, not one credit per garment. A failed render returns its credit automatically. The first render on a new account is free. No subscription needed.
